PV and home battery scenarios

PV and battery results depend on the roof, system sizes, household demand, equipment limits and tariff. Compare alternatives on the same home and inspect when energy is used, stored, imported or exported.

Inputs and outputs

  • PV arrays are described by installed capacity, roof face and orientation.
  • Battery capacity, power and state-of-charge limits shape how much energy can move between hours.
  • Results show PV production, household use, battery charge and discharge, grid imports and exports.

The model does not resolve every nearby roof obstruction or certify an installer yield estimate.

Example question and exclusions

For example, compare one roof layout with two battery capacities under the same hourly household demand and tariff. Inspect PV use, grid import and export, and battery state of charge. This page reports no simulated yield or saving. The standard cost result excludes battery aging, replacement, installation and financing.

Package

PV and battery modeling are included in both paid plans. Choose Full Project to compare scenarios side by side and export hourly CSV data. See pricing for what each plan includes.

Compare on the same timeline

Annual PV production minus annual consumption is not self-consumption. Hourly matching matters: a battery may move energy between hours, subject to its power, capacity and reserve limits. Compare battery sizes using the same weather and demand assumptions.

Included costs

The simulation can estimate operating costs under the selected tariff. It does not automatically include battery aging, replacement, installation cost, financing or subsidies. Those need separate evidence and assumptions.
