Cooling cost depends on the home, weather, setpoint, schedule, equipment and electricity tariff. A universal annual price would hide the assumptions that drive the answer.
Build a useful comparison
- Describe the floor area and envelope, including glazing and shading.
- Choose the weather basis, cooling setpoint, schedule and supported cooling system.
- Use a dated tariff and report cooling electricity separately from heating and household use.
- List equipment purchase and installation costs separately if you have a sourced quote.
What the estimate leaves out
A modeled electricity bill is not a quote for installing air conditioning. It does not include capital cost, maintenance, financing or subsidies unless those items are separately entered and documented. The model also does not certify acoustic or condensation safety.
